The Mumbai bowlers eventually pulled back to limit the scoring, and the Knight Riders finished their innings on 185.In the chase, stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, and Tim David came on to help Mumbai Indians secure their second straight victory. Rohit Sharma, who had taken Riley Meredith’s place as the key player, helped Mumbai get off to a fast start in the Powerplay along with Ishan Kishan, who scored a quickfire half-century.
Player of the Game is Venkatesh Iyer.
Venkatesh Iyer said “I was pleased with my performance, however I would have preferred if we had won. It was a very lovely wicket to bat on, and the management has demonstrated its confidence in me. It all depends on how you proceed after you’ve scored those 30 to 40 runs. Although we may have fallen 15-20 runs short in the end, Mumbai would have chased it down in the following few overs given the way they were playing. They didn’t give up a lot of runs in their last three or four overs, which is praiseworthy.
