415 runs were scored between the two teams during a run-fest at the Wankhede. started off well, only losing one wicket in the powerplay, but the majority of the runs were scored in the last few overs, when Sam Curran, Harpreet Bhatia, and Jitesh Sharma ran riot, scoring 96 runs in 5 overs. Jitesh Sharma destroyed the MI bowling attack with 25 runs at a strike rate of 357 while Sam Curran, the stand-in skipper, hit 55 from 29. Chasing 215 was never going to be simple, but MI captain Rohit Sharma got off to a good start with scoring 44 runs off just 27 balls. However, MI’s hopes were maintained by a partnership of 75 from just 36 balls between Suryakumar and Cam Green. Up until Suryakumar Yadav’s dismissal by Arshdeep Singh in the 18th over of the innings, MI was cruising. Tim David did deliver several lusty strikes, but ultimately MI escaped. Arshdeep Singh was the one who kept his composure under pressure and demonstrated his precision by bowling those yorkers. With just 29 runs scored from his four wickets, the left-arm bowler finished with four.
Player of the Game is Sam Curran.
Pretty unique, says PBKS Skipper Sam Curran. What incredible terrain. This place has a fantastic environment. Very good for us. Given how the boys finished the game out there, I don’t believe I should be named Man of the Match. We are aware that we have to assume that obligation without Shikhar. Our group is gelling incredibly well.
