Once more, MI easily takes down a target of 200 or more. With Agarwal and Vivrant Sharma blasting at nearly 9 r.p.o. in the powerplay, SRH got off to a strong start. In the middle overs, Agarwal upped the ante by attacking the MI spinners. While opening partner Vivrant Sharma struck a fifty on his first IPL innings, the right-handed opening batter smacked 83 runs at a strike rate of 180. Thanks to Akash Madhwal, who picked number four and is proving to be dependable to deliver under duress, MI managed to recover in the death overs. As a retaliation, MI lost Ishan Kishan early on, but skipper Rohit Sharma and Cam Green amassed 128 runs between them off only 65 balls, obviating any possibility of a comeback from the SRH spinners. Cam Green finished unbeaten on 100 from 47 balls while Sharma, who was playing second fiddle, hit 56 from 37. With two overs to spare, MI was able to complete the total with the help of a strong cameo by SKy near the end. The outcome of the following match between GT and RCB will now determine whether MI will have the good fortune to advance to the playoffs.

Player of the Game is Cameron Green.

Cameron Green said “Rohit Sharma and I took a fantastic stance. His guidance on the other end was quite helpful. The MI setup as a whole has been excellent. When you have men like Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Suryakumar Yadav, it helps with the intention at the top. I told SKY to finish it when we still had two runs to get. Then we had a few runs, and we just barely crossed the finish line. I was happy to score my first IPL century at that point”.
