What IPL does to you is this! Till the very end, keep you on the edge of your seat! A dramatic game of cricket between two teams that were tied to the very end was played at Chinnaswamy Stadium. When RCB was given the opportunity to bat, their opening pair of Virat Kohli and Faf Du Plessis got things going quickly. Before Kohli was dismissed by Amit Mishra for a score of 61, the pair amassed 96 runs. Glenn Maxwell then joined Skipper Faf, adding 100 runs in just 44 balls to bring the team total up to 212. In his 59-run knock, Maxwell smashed 6 sixes and 3 fours. With only 23 runs on the board, LSG lost 3 wickets in the first four overs. The LSG’s hopes were sustained by a partnership between KL Rahul and Marcus Stoinis, but the asking price rose with each ball passed. Stoinis left the game after scoring 65 runs in just 30 balls, giving Nicholas Pooran the opportunity to take over as the LSG captain and guide the team to victory. In just 15 balls, the left-handed swashbuckler reached his fifty and completely changed the course of the game. In the game’s 17th over, Pooran scored 62 runs off just 19 balls before being bowled out by Siraj. The final recognised hitter, Ayush Badoni, held one end up but was unfortunate to be out HIT-WICKET to a ball that he scooped for six! Team LSG showed steely nerves by chasing down the total on the final pitch of the inning! LSG defeats Royal Challengers to earn their first victory!
Player of the Game goes to NICHOLAS POORAN
Nick Pooran: “I would want to dedicate this performance to my wife and new baby. As Stoinis and KL had a great working relationship, we knew the game had begun. I knew this was a good wicket because Stoinis kept us in the match. It was all about cashing in, and we may have even chased over 50 in the final four. I struck a six with the next ball after entering the game. It isn’t about getting a look; if it falls into my slot, I will score six.
