RCB VS MI MATCH-54 IPL23
MUMBAI INDIANS WON BY 6 WICKETS
ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE
LOCATION – Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai
A run-fest at Wankhede where we saw a total of 21 sixes and 37 fours! Anuj Rawat and Kohli were lost by RCB before the conclusion of the third over, which was hardly the best of starts. But by attacking the opposition, Faf and Maxwell allowed RCB to get back into the match. While Maxwell hit 68 at an incredible strike rate of 206, Faf scored 65 from 41 balls. In the later innings, MI bowled a few economical overs and was able to keep RCB to under 200. Ishan Kishan gave MI a flying start with scoring 42 runs off just 21 balls. But when Suryakumar Yadav unleashed his beast mode and once again showed what he is made of, the real assault started. The batter used every shot in his arsenal to blast RCB bowlers into every part of the stadium. Nehal Wadera appeared to be playing second fiddle to Surya, whose strike rate was above 200, as he was only averaging 150. Nehal Wadera continued his perfect 54-game streak as SKY scored 83 points from 35. MI finished off the mission with 3.3 overs remaining. With this victory, MI moves up to third position in the points standings, while RCB drops to seventh.
Player of the Game is Suryakumar Yadav.
Suryakumar Yadav said “From the perspective of the team, very important. I’m overjoyed to have won a game at home like this. I’m referring to their making a plan. They attempted to get me to strike the bigger piece. Slow down the pace and bowl slowly. Nehal, I said, let’s run hard and hit it hard into the gaps. You must practise exactly how you expect to do in games. I am aware of where I run. Open net sessions are taking place. I am aware of my strategy. I don’t alter my behaviour in any way“.
