Yashasvi Jaiswal left the Royals early, but Jos Buttler and Devdutt Padikkal’s combination of 77 runs (41 balls) kept the scoreboard going. 52 points from Buttler led RR in scoring. The side managed to score a respectable 175 runs thanks to cameos from Shimron Hetmyer and Ravi Ashwin. In the middle overs, the RR scoring rate was slowed down by Ravindra Jadeja’s second spell.The left-arm spinner claimed two wickets while only giving up 21 runs in his four overs. In reaction, CSK also suffered a costly loss in their talented opener Rururaj Gaikwad. Together, Devon Conway and Ajinkya Rahane scored 68 runs off of 43 balls by playing appropriately. Conway led all scorers with 50 points at a 132 percent strike rate. When the RR Spinners ran through the middle order, CSK became disoriented.In their eight overs combined, Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravi Ashwin only allowed 52 runs while taking four significant wickets. When it mattered most, Ravindra Jadeja and veteran warrior Mahendra Singh Dhoni took on the bowlers but ultimately fell short by a very little margin. MSD continued to stay unbeaten with 32 from 17, but they were only able to go close to the total by 3 runs!

Ravichandran Ashwin: “I suppose I surprised everybody. We lost Sanju, so I was assigned that duty. I am much better at identifying my strengths, but I need a few balls to start. I am prepared for every batting inning right away. Although difficult, it is a good thing. My performance on the test was strong. I believe I have decent control over the ball and can release it at the proper lengths.
