LOCATION – Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.

In a low-scoring contest in the Pink City, LSG prevails. After being asked to bat first by Sanju Samson, LSG took their time getting going. KL Rahul and Kyle Mayers scored 82 runs together but needed 64 balls to do so. LSG was held to an average score of 154 by RR when he scaled back the situation. Boult was the most efficient of the bowlers, while Ashwin claimed two wickets. In response, RR got off to a strong start with Buttler and Jaiswal moving along at a respectable pace. Marcus Stoinis, though, spearheaded the LSG recovery by removing Jaiswal in the 12th over, and the club lost three more wickets for just 17 runs after that. On this sluggish, low track, Avesh Khan picked up three wickets while Naveen Ul Haq and Ravi Bishnoi bowled efficiently, giving the opposition very little. Despite their best efforts, Padikkal and Parag were unable to match the requested rate. RR ultimately lost by 10 runs.

The player of the game is Marcus Stoinis.

Marcus Stoinis said “Nice to get involved with the ball, had no real plans to get Jos Buttler out that way, but I just used some cricketing smarts and bowled it short into the wicket,” said Marcus Stoinis. We quickly realised that this was a tricky wicket since we had identified it as such and adjusted our strategies accordingly.
